Lock Out / Tag Out (LOTO)

The Lock Out / Tag Out (LOTO) Training course provides comprehensive instruction on the principles, methods, and safety considerations of lockout/tagout procedures. Participants will learn the importance of isolating energy sources, the responsibilities of implementing LOTO, compliance with regulations(Health and Safety Authority (HSA) guidelines.), and techniques for effectively performing lockout/tagout procedures. Through a combination of theoretical instruction and practical demonstrations, participants will develop the skills and knowledge necessary to safely and effectively perform lockout/tagout.

This course is designed for individuals and professionals in industries where LOTO procedures are critical for maintaining safety during equipment maintenance and servicing. This includes maintenance technicians, machine operators, electrical workers, engineers, safety officers, supervisors, plant managers, and any personnel involved in equipment maintenance or servicing.

On completion of this course, participants will be able to:

• Identify key roles and responsibilities in LOTO procedures.
• Understand and comply with relevant statutory regulations and legislation.
• Recognize different types of energy sources and their associated hazards.
• Ensure adherence to permit-to-work systems and industry best practices.
• Select and apply appropriate lockout/tagout tools and devices.
• Execute Lock Out / Tag Out procedures correctly and safely.
• Verify and test isolation procedures to confirm their effectiveness.

The course is delivered through a combination of presentations, interactive discussions, and practical demonstrations.

Participants will be assessed through a combination of multiple-choice questions (MCQ) and practical skill assessments.

Upon successful completion, they will receive a Mechanical Isolation Certificate.
