Additional Information
What is Train the Trainer?
Many different roles require the ability to train others. We sometimes find it difficult to know how to pass on knowledge and skills we know intrinsically to others in ways they might understand.
Train the Trainer is a programme designed to equip participants with both the abilities and confidence needed to train others. If you seek to train in any capacity, whether as part of an existing role, or as a professional trainer, it is vital to understand best practices for planning, delivery and evaluation.
Holland Academy will engage you in practical learning and give you the opportunity to develop your own style and improve your technique for delivering training. We will guide you in developing your course, offering advice on what mode of delivery might work best for your workforce or personnel you wish to train, and how to assess your course using practical marking sheets. Holland Academy are always available to support you after you have completed this course to offer further guidance and assistance.
What is Manual Handling?
Manual Handling is a physical activity that takes place in every workplace, and in some cases, the activity does not pose a problem. However, it can be a potential workplace hazard when an employee is required to handle very heavy loads, which could result in a back injury. The type of manual handling activity that needs to be assessed is defined in Regulation 68 of the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work, (General Application) Regulations 2007:
“Manual Handling involves any transporting or supporting of any load by one or more employees, and includes lifting, putting down, pushing, pulling, carrying or moving a load, which by reason of its characteristics or unfavourable ergonomic conditions involves risk, particularly of back injury, to employees.” hsa.ie
